New Liverpool four-piece Carla may have a somewhat unambitious name as no one in the band seems to be called 'Carla', so unless there's some great tale attached to it, it doesn't, it has to be said, inspire one to rush to listen to them.
However, on the plus-side, the four twenty-year-olds have followed up their initial online demo track 'Are You Wanted?' with the equally infectious debut single 'Heart Trips'. Jangly guitar riffs spliced with a nicely tempered pop melody and distinctive vocal should ensure they reach a few hearts sound-wise, if not exactly having the same appeal with the name.
