Listen :: Firestations

Partly recorded to 8-track tape at Sound Savers (Mazes, Dignan Porch) over five summer days, and the rest emerging from the band's home studio, 'Never Closer' is the debut from Firestations, out next month.

Combining fuzzy dream-pop with shades of alt-folk, where understated vocals and drums make way for guitar and bass to take precedence, the album is preceded by single 'Forgetful Man' on October 27 - following the title track which was the first cut released from the album during the summer.

You can hear both 'Forgetful Man' and 'Never Closer' below.

Firestations is a London five-piece that includes members of Astronauts, Dark Captain, Quickspace and Left With Pictures. At times recalling the scuzzy indiepop hooks of Veronica Falls meshed with the spacey folk of Pentangle or Tunng, their music is underpinnned by a pop songwriting core and augmented by electronics, synth and guitar.

'Never Closer' is released thru Waltz Time Records on November 24.
