Introducing :: Alessa's Nowhere

Alessa's Nowhere is the name by which 20-year-old Manchester-based Jamie Carnie plays under. And 'plays' includes not just vocals, but guitar, synth and drum machine.

The one-man band, whose influences range from new wave / electronic, the likes of Depeche Mode, The Cure and Crystal Castles, has just digitally released his first, self-produced single 'Can I Dream?' this week.

It's rather an interesting piece, not just in its dark and brooding style that owes much to the aforementioned musical inspirations, and Carnie's downcast - but intriguing - vocal delivery, but because it is just a solo effort and not a three or four-piece band.

Alessa's Nowhere plays Lock 91, Manchester on March 17.
