BALU BRIGADA - OVERLAP
New single - released November 20 - by Auckland, NZ indie hip-hop artists, comprised of brothers Henry (vocals, guitar), Pierre (keys, vocals) and Charles (drums) Beasley, with Guy Harrison (bass, vocals). Following on from the summer's 'Could You Not', with a funky rhythm line and synth pads.
ELSTOW - NIGHT & DAY
Co-produced by Darragh Nolan (Sacred Animals) of Ireland’s Asta Kalapa Studios and mastered by NZ’s Andrew Davenport, the Sydney alt-psych-pop infused track oozes with twanging guitar, punchy percussion and velvet, lo-fi vocals.
ESTÈRE - GRANDMOTHER
25-year-old Wellington, NZ-based Estère Dalton shares the soulful track from her recent mini-album 'My Design (Part 1)'. Lyrically the song discusses Estere’s grandmother - "the woman I am named after but never got to meet."
BEDIQUETTE - IN CIRCLES
Dunedin, NZ electronic artist Jens Moller released this new glitchy, electro-pop single on November 7, ahead of upcoming EP which follows her 'Looking, Not Listening EP' debut from earlier this year.
TIA GOSTELOW - HUNGER
The 18-year-old Queensland-based indie pop singer-songwriter debuted 'Vague Utopia' last year at the age of 17; now on her third official single which was co-written with Little May’s Hanna Field and Liz Drummond and produced by Konstantin Kersting. Her distinctive soaring vocals rise over a driving beat and guitars.
POLYESTER - DIFFERENT FOR A BOY
Released earlier this month from the Auckland, NZ, alt-pop five-piece - their first since last year's 'Lucky Me'. With their debut album set for early next year, this dreamy ballad's lyrics talk about songwriter Amelia Berry’s experiences coming out as a trans woman.
